I found the main character brash, whiny, and annoying, and the fact that he's prone to shouting and going nuts didn't endear him to me at all. What I watched though was pretty much scene-by-scene for what happened in the manga, though I'm not sure how long the anime stays like that. Everyone is going nuts for the anime and I even started the first episode though got distracted halfway through and stopped watching for some reason and never went back. I don't think the art is particularly good, and while the story is pretty unique, I was kind of bored, honestly. I also don't understand how this is already up to 11 volumes when ( some spoilers for volume 2 as well) (view spoiler) I finished this and started on the second volume and I feel like this might be one of those instances where I just don't get the hype. It's possible that the crap I read before this made this seem better overall. #ATTACK ON TITAN MANGA 121 SERIES#
I highly recommend this series to all of my fellow lovers of the horror genre, however I would stick to ages 16+.moreĢnd reading: You know what, I liked this a little bit more after reading it again. As an added bonus, the world itself is intriguing, and from reading the extras, it seems like it's going to get more fleshed out as the series goes on.
For once there weren't any panels I was confused on, or struggled to understand. They all have distinct personalities, and the art is impeccable, so it's easy to tell them apart. I love how each person is completely different. The characters are fascinating, and I'm hoping we will see more of their backstories in future volumes. If so, I would say this book isn't for you. I mean, people are getting eaten left and right so it's a little rough if you are emotionally sensitive, or get attached to characters easily. It is listed as horror so at least there's that. It's listed as YA, but in my opinion it probably shouldn't be. I This is a really good story, and the art is amazing, but be prepared.
